As part of an incredible, packed programme of events at this year’s ELCAF (East London Comic Arts Festival), we have curated a mini-series of talks about the digital side of creative arts and have invited friends from Aardman Animations, Rumpus Animation and Yatatoy to talk about all things apps and animation!

Minilab Presents Laura <strong>Chilcott

Join Laura Chilcott, Senior Digital Producer at Aardman Animations for an insight into the workings of world-famous studio and creators of Wallace, Gromit and Shaun the Sheep. As part of our mini-series, Minilab Studios presents, Laura will talk about the digital side of Aardman, from games and apps to interactive videos and working with museums. Great fun for adults and children alike! FREE with ELCAF ticket.

Minilab Presents ELCAF Rumpus

Come see Rumpus Animation creative director Seb Burnett and animator/designer Luke Hyde to find out about their digital animation and indie game studio. As part of our mini-series,  Minilab Studios presents, Seb and Luke will talk about collaborative practice, their work for clients such as CBBC and Google and the production of their 2D adventure game, Bertram Fiddle. FREE with ELCAF ticket.

Minilab Presents ELCAF Yatatoy

Join animation director Lucas Zanotto as he introduces his digital studio label, Yatatoy in the final instalment of our mini-series presented by Minilab Studios. Started in 2012 with the mission to create high quality simple apps for children, Yatatoy has produced a trio of distinctive digital toys with endless appeal: Drawnimal, Miximal and Loopimal. Look out for the Yatatoy area at ELCAF on 10 and 11 June where children (and grown-ups) are encouraged to draw, make and dance! Tickets are £3 and available here!

There are all sorts of other amazing events running over the course of the ELCAF weekend and during the weeks beforehand so make sure that you have a look at the full programme and get to as many of them as possible!
