Please see below a list of general FAQs for our children’s apps. If you are having a specific issue within one of our apps, we should have answered them in the product-specific sections below. All apps can get worn out and begin to misbehave sometimes – depending on your device, it should be an easy fix. Start by closing the app completely, and restarting it. Otherwise, restart your device. You may also find that closing any background apps can also help. If all else fails, you can uninstall and reinstall the app (you won’t be charged again!). iPad users may also benefit from disabling ‘Multitasking Gestures’ in their general settings, which can be triggered when lots of small fingers are tapping the screen!
Our apps have the ability to toggle sound on and off, so start by checking the app itself. If sound is enabled but you still cannot hear anything, check your device’s volume switch, which is usually located on the top or side of your device. iOS users can also swipe upwards from the home screen, to bring up their settings and enable or disable sound from there.

If you’re having no luck with the suggestions above and you decide to remove and reinstall your app, all you need to do is press and hold on the app’s icon and tap the ‘x’ (iOS). Alternatively, under Settings, Applications and Manage Applications you should see a list of your apps, where you can remove any misbehaving ones (Android)! To reinstall your app, simply locate it on your relevant store, and tap ‘reinstall’ or the cloud icon (iOS). You can also see a list of previously purchased apps (but make sure you are signed with the same ID or account you used to purchase the app originally).

As long as you are using the same ID/account as you did to purchase the app, you should not pay again – including for any in-app purchases.
On iOS devices, to restore your in-app purchases you can enter the app and follow the steps you took to originally buy them: the App Store will recognise that you have purchased them before, and notify you that you will not be charged. If you have any issues, please contact us at [email protected]
Our apps are not guaranteed to be supported on older devices and operating systems, to ensure that we do not compromise on quality when creating new apps. In particular, we cannot support any Android device running OS 4.0 or earlier. If you have a question about your own device, you can email us at [email protected]
Each of our apps have a Parent area accessible from its homepage, using an adult date of birth (in YYYY format, eg. 1978). Here, you’ll find information about the app, as well as extras such as worksheets that you can download and print!
Minilab Studios was created as a sister company to Nobrow Press and Flying Eye Books. Our first app, Professor Astro Cat’s Solar System, is based on the book Professor Astro Cat’s Frontiers Of Space (Ben Newman and Dominic Walliman), which was published by Flying Eye Books. We work on projects together with our sister companies, and apart as a separate entity.
On the home page of our apps, you will find the language drop-down menu in the top right hand corner of the screen. You can select your chosen language from here. This does not affect your profile or progress (for example, if you’ve started a game but want to switch language part way through).
