Artie’s Magic Pencil at the BolognaRagazzi Digital Awards
Last week, we were lucky enough to receive a prestigious mention for Artie’s Magic Pencil. Our CEO travelled to Bologna, Italy, as part of the Bologna Children’s Book Fair. Last year, the fair saw 26,000 visitors and gave 20 awards. The award ceremonies include categories covering books and digital media that enrich children’s lives all over the world. And guess what? Artie’s Magic Pencil received a Special Mention from the jury of the BolognaRagazzi Digital Award!
The digital branch of the book fair has given awards since 2012. BolognaRagazzi winners have come from all over the world, covering a variety of genres. First, the nominees were selected from mobile apps or web products. Then a shortlist, six mentions and three winners were chosen (a huge congratulations to Oh!, Toontastic 3D, and Mur). BCBF organised the awards in partnership with the Children’s Technology Review. Little Artie was up against 151 other entries, so we’re immensely proud of our app for catching the jurors’ attention!
Artie’s Magic Pencil was our first app featuring an original Minilab character. The simple story aimed at 3-6 year olds recounts Artie’s journey through a charming world filled with basic shapes. Although a mischievous monster wreaks havoc, Artie determinedly revives everything it destroys…using the magic pencil. We won’t give away the ending – if you and your children haven’t played the app, you can find it here.
Thank you to all of the BolognaRagazzi Digital Award jurors, Children’s Technology Review and of course Bologna Children’s Book Fair!
